Steven Kip Steinmetz

Steven Kip Steinmetz, 40, of West Hartford, husband of Jennifer Glickman Steinmetz, died Wednesday, November 9, 2005 after a valiant battle with a glioblastoma brain tumor. Steven was born in West Hartford. He graduated from Hall High School in 1983, George Washington University in 1988, and Widener University School of Law in 1993. He was admitted to the Bar of both Pennsylvania and Connecticut. After graduating from law school and marrying Jennifer, Steven clerked for the late Samuel L. Rogers of the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court of Appeals. From there he served as Assistant Consumer Advocate under the office of Attorney General. There, he acquired great skills in utility law. He loved his family and his friends and we will all miss him. Steven is survived by his wife Jennifer and their two children: Anaka Kate and Scott Jacob Steinmetz; his mother: Marilyn Shapiro Steinmetz and her companion Dr. Stephen Lieberman; his brother: Jay and his wife Stephanie Brown Steinmetz and their son Samuel of Baltimore, MD; his aunt: Merle Mishel of Chapel Hill, NC; and uncle and aunt Mark and Kathy Shapiro of Burlington, CT. Steven was predeceased by his father Harvey Steinmetz of West Hartford and Hollywood, FL. Steven is further survived by the greatest, truest friends a person could wish for. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 11th, at 1:00 PM in the Sanctuary of Beth El Temple, 2626 Albany Ave., West Hartford with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth El Temple Cemetery, Avon. A memorial period will be observed at his home, 33 Lovelace Dr., West Hartford, through Sunday evening.
